Termite Control Marietta

Our Termite Control Services

Termites, although small, can have a big impact on homes in Marietta. Unfortunately, most people are not aware their homes are infested until they spot a swarm of termites (signaling a mature colony) or termite damage becomes apparent.

Subterranean termites live underground and build mud or shelter tubes to gain access to the wooden components of your home (so they’re not often visible or out in the open). Termite activity may go years before it’s noticed by an untrained professional or homeowner. Here at North Fulton Pest Services, we strive to not only control existing termite infestations but also prevent future termite infestations and the costly repairs associated with termite damage.

Our termite control services incorporate proven methods and technologies to control termites. Our trained professionals will design a termite treatment specific to your home and make a professional recommendation based on the construction of your home, our experience in the industry, and the specifics of your property to provide the right termite protection for you.

Subterranean Termites

Subterranean termites are social insects that live in colonies. As colonies mature, individual worker termites (the colony caste member that eats wood) can number between 60,000 and 2,000,000!

Even on the lower end of the spectrum, a mature colony of approximately 60,000 workers can consume roughly 5 grams of wood each day. A colony of this size, over the course of a year, may consume more than 2 feet of 2×4 framing! That’s certainly reason enough to protect any structure from termites!

Offering Our Termite Control Services to You

We’re proud to offer our proven termite control services to those in Marietta as your local Certified Sentricon Specialist and Termidor Certified Professional. We know termites can be something of an issue. They can go undetected for years before a homeowner spots them, and that’s exactly why the best course of termite control is always prevention and regular inspections.

We’ll visually inspect your structure for signs of previous or current termite infestation, but realize, even as trained professionals, we can only visually inspect roughly 20-30% of a structure. This means approximately 70-80% of any given structure is inaccessible for visual inspection. Even infrared camera technology has been unsuccessful in identifying and determining areas of active termite infestation. Because no one can see through walls or underneath floor coverings, the best thing you can do is take preventative termite control measures.

Termite damage can be very expensive to repair. Unfortunately, this type of damage is rarely covered by homeowner insurance policies. We can offer you a treatment plan that costs far less than the typical cost of termite damage repairs to your home.

Signs of Subterranean Termites

Subterranean termites live in underground colonies and forage for food like the wood framing in your home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Mud tubes are a sure sign of a termite infestation. Termites create the mud tubes to protect themselves from predators while also providing them with the moisture and climate control they need to survive. The mud tubes are usually as wide as a pencil, though they can be much larger in some instances. They can be seen along with foundations, wooden construction components, piers, expansion joints, or other similar areas in or around a structure.

An additional sign of subterranean termites is discarded wings. These are typically found in the spring and summer months. Reproductive termites (sometimes called swarmers or alates) often leave behind discarded wings. These discarded wings are a sign that a swarm of future termite kings and queens has occurred. As a homeowner, this is the last thing you need. We can help to prevent a new colony from being established. Contact us today.
